Try these tips before contacting technical support:
If you are getting an error message, WRITE IT DOWN! You can also use Google Search using the error message to find the answer to your computer problem. (I always recommend keeping a notebook near your computer specific to your computer)
Have you tried turning it off and turning it off again?
This might sound silly but many issues can be corrected by restarting your computer. If you can't shut your computer off, press and hold the power button on your computer for 8 seconds and it will shut off. Remove the power cord if this doesn't work.
Check all connections.
If you have a blank monitor, or the keyboard/mouse won't work, check the connections. Sometimes unplugging and replugging it in can help fix it. If wireless, check batteries.
Have you tried going into Safe mode?
Safe mode is the diagnostic mode of your computer. When restarting your computer, pressing f8 on the keyboard will enter Safe Mode in the Windows 7. Windows 8 or 10, you press the SHIFT key and the f8 key at the same time. Some computers have specific keys or key combinations to enter safe mode. Click here to learn how ot start in Safe Mode.
Is your anti-virus software up to date? Have you scanned your system?
If your computer is acting strange, run a scan to see if viruses or maleware infected your computer. Don't have anti-virus? Try Avast antivirus software. It's free and works very well. Click here to download/install.
Have you tried shutting off the offending program?
Some programs don't work well with others so shutting them off can help fix some computer issues. Press Ctrl Alt Delete buttons at the same time and select Start Task Manager.
